The
Garrett County Arts Council operates the Gallery at 206 E.
Alder Street in Oakland to showcase the fine arts and crafts
of regional artists.
More than 100 artists and artisans currently participate in
Gallery displays and exhibits.
We change our main Gallery
exhibit three times each year to maintain a fresh appearance.
We rotate special exhibits featuring solo artists more frequently—every
six to eight weeks.
We host public receptions
for featured solo artists at each rotation of exhibit. Please
Contact Us if you wish to receive
invitations to receptions and other Gallery events.
You’ll find us in
downtown Oakland along Alder Street directly opposite Englander’s
Antiques. The hundreds of original hand-crafted items we carry
include paintings, photographs, pottery, porcelain, line drawings,
maps, wall hangings, knit goods, blown glass, jewelry, stained
glass, turned wood, wood carvings, fused glass, tapes and
CDs, ornaments, note cards, Shaker boxes, baskets, needlepoint,
dough craft, iron work, literary publications, hand-made soap,
and more. The Gallery is a great place to shop for gifts or
unique interior accents.
Only
a ten-minute drive from Deep Creek Lake, the Gallery is open
Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m., year round except for
major holidays. Please Contact Us
for travel directions.
Please Contact
Us if you would like to consider displaying your work
at the Gallery as a participating artist. We’ll be happy
to forward guidelines and an application form.
