The Garrett County Arts Council provides funding support for community arts development through our grants program.

We award approximately $30,000 annually to local organizations and schools for the presentation of arts activities in our community.

Past grant recipients have included the Garrett Choral Society, Garrett College Art Gallery, Garrett Community Concert Band, Garrett County Board of Education, Garrett County 4-H Program, Garrett Lakes Arts Festival, Grantsville Lions Club, Greater Oakland Business Association, Northern and Southern Garrett Band Boosters, Our Town Theatre, Town of Kitzmiller, Spruce Forest Artisan Village, and other organizations.

Applicants for grant funding consideration must qualify as nonprofit organizations presenting arts programs or projects in Garrett County or for the benefit of Garrett County citizens. Recipients must match awards with cash support for funded projects. All funded programs and projects must be open to the public and must meet specific eligibility criteria.

The annual application deadline for grant requests in amounts exceeding $500 is March 21 prior to the annual support period which begins July 1. Requests for funding support in amounts of $500 or less must be submitted at least 45 days prior to scheduled events.
