The Garrett County Arts Council promotes community arts development in western Maryland for the benefit of residents and visitors. We’re here for you!

Our Calendar informs you of upcoming events.

Our Gallery Shop features original work by the area’s finest artists and artisans.

Our Programs & Projects include publication of a literary journal and presentation of the Autumn Glory Heritage Craft Fest. We present periodic workshops and an annual performing arts showcase. We maintain rotating fine art exhibits at the county’s Visitors Center and present demonstrations of art and craft at The Gallery Shop in Oakland. We collaborate with others to present the McHenry Chautauqua program of the Maryland Humanities Council and Art in the Park at Deep Creek Lake.

Our Grants program provides funding to other nonprofit organizations for the presentation of local public arts programs.

Our Arts-in-Education initiatives foster the development of arts enrichment activities in the public schools.

Our Endowment Fund for Community Arts Development anticipates perpetual funding for future needs.

Through internet Links, we connect you to other arts organizations serving Garrett County’s residents and visitors.
