The success of the Garrett County Arts Council in promoting community arts development relies on the membership support of friends and neighbors.

The Garrett County Arts Council was established in 1976 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We operate as the county’s designated official arts agency for receipt and disbursement of Maryland state funding on behalf of the local nonprofit arts community. We maintain registration as a charitable organization with the Maryland Secretary of State.

In addition to funding from the state of Maryland, we benefit through financial support from Garrett County government, from fundraising activities, from program revenues, and from the generosity of patrons and members.

Members receive advance notice of Council sponsored receptions, programs, workshops, and special events. Annual membership dues begin at $12. Dues and contributions are tax deductible as provided by law.
